Frequently asked questions
What is mineral ceramic?
The exterior is decorated with natural mineral-based pigments, creating a distinctive matte, grainy texture that is clearly tactile to the touch. This textured surface is intentional and part of the character of Mineral Art ceramics.
A thin protective glaze is applied before firing at 1260°C (2300°F), while the inside has a smooth, food-safe glaze for everyday use.
Is it safe for everyday drinking?
Yes. Our Mineral Ceramic Mugs are made using food-safe ceramic materials and glazes. The interior is finished with a smooth glaze, while the mineral artwork on the exterior is protected beneath a glazed surface
Will the mineral texture wear off or shed over time?
The mineral ceramic cup is protected by a glaze and high-fired at 1260°C (2300°F) for lasting durability. As with any handcrafted ceramic, we recommend treating it with care and avoiding abrasive cleaning on the textured surface.
Will my mug look exactly like the photos?
Not exactly—and that’s precisely what makes each piece special.
Because every mug is individually handcrafted, subtle variations in size, weight, color, mineral texture, pattern, and finish are to be expected. No two are exactly alike.
How should I clean and care for my mineral art mug?
For daily cleaning, gently wipe with a soft sponge and avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the textured surface.
For stubborn tea or coffee stains, soak the mug in warm water with a small amount of baking soda, then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry completely before storing.
Actually, the mug is technically dishwasher- and microwave-safe. However, we do not recommend using either to preserve its mineral finish and lifespan best.
